Noticing fluid under your vehicle? We inspect the source of the leak, explain what we find and discuss the appropriate repair before you authorize work.
FIND THE SOURCE FIRST
Tell us where the fluid appears, when you first noticed it and whether your vehicle is shifting differently. Inspection helps distinguish a transmission-fluid leak from another source and identify the appropriate repair.
We inspect the concern and review the fluid level and condition using the procedure appropriate for the vehicle. A seal, gasket, line or another component may need attention.
We consider the transmission’s condition and any shifting symptoms before recommending work. Repairing a leak may not resolve a separate internal transmission problem.
Fluid loss can lead to further damage. Call before driving farther if the vehicle is slipping, overheating, failing to engage or showing a significant leak. Describe the symptoms so we can discuss the next step; whether the vehicle should be driven depends on the concern.

The estimate should identify the source of the leak, the proposed parts and labor, and any fluid or additional testing included. Access matters: some repairs involve more disassembly or removal than others.
We explain the findings and available options before major work begins. If transmission removal reveals another concern worth addressing, we explain the reason and additional cost. You decide whether to authorize it.
For example, a leaking engine rear main seal is an engine concern. If it needs attention while the transmission is already removed, we can discuss whether combining the work may avoid repeat removal labor later.

Not automatically. Inspection may identify a targeted repair. A rebuild or replacement is considered based on the overall transmission condition and findings, not simply because fluid is visible.
Color alone is not enough to confirm the source or repair. We need to inspect the vehicle and evaluate the concern.
Adding fluid does not repair the source of fluid loss. The correct level, fluid specification and checking procedure depend on the vehicle. Have the leak evaluated instead of relying on repeated top-ups.
The price depends on the source, access, parts, fluid and labor required. We explain the proposed scope and estimate before you approve repairs.
Coverage depends on the work identified as covered on your invoice. Review the full warranty terms and ask about the parts, labor, time and mileage limits that apply to your repair.
