Transmission Diagnostics

We begin by evaluating the symptoms instead of assuming the transmission needs major work. The goal is to identify the likely source and recommend the proper next step.

The complimentary initial transmission inspection has restrictions. Additional testing or disassembly may require authorization and a separate charge.

Transmission Rebuilds

A rebuild involves removing and disassembling the transmission, inspecting internal components and replacing qualifying worn parts included in the authorized repair.

Remanufactured Units

A remanufactured transmission is rebuilt by a supplier to that supplier’s specifications and delivered as a replacement assembly. We select an available supplier for the vehicle application.

Qualifying remanufactured assemblies include 36-month / 100,000-mile coverage, whichever occurs first. Included labor and excluded items depend on the selected supplier and written terms.

Transmission fluid and maintenance service components

Transmission Service

Transmission maintenance may include fluid, a filter, gaskets or related service items when appropriate for the specific vehicle and transmission.

A fluid service is maintenance and cannot correct every internal mechanical, hydraulic or electronic problem.

Torque converter and transmission components

Torque-Converter Repair

The torque converter transfers engine power into an automatic transmission. Shuddering, slipping, overheating or unusual noise may involve the converter or another transmission-related condition.

Computer Scanning & Road Testing

A computer scan reads stored electronic trouble codes, while a road test helps us observe actual shifting behavior. We use both with the vehicle’s symptoms and other inspection findings.
